What Do Stormwater Fees Mean to You?

Stormwater fees are based on the amount of impervious surface on your property. Impervious surfaces include rooftops, driveways, parking lots and other “hard” surfaces that prevent water from absorbing into the ground. The more pavement and non permeable surface area on your property, the higher your fees.

Proper Grading during early stages of construction ensures rainwater will flow away from foundations. Installing drain pipes under patios and retaining walls carries water away from these hard surfaces to grassy areas where the water can be absorbed. Dry Creek Beds provide an aesthetic way of eliminating standing water by replacing soil with a deep bed of gravel which allows the water to move to a designated area on the property more quickly.  Rain gardens are a great way to retain and slow down stormwater runoff on your property while enjoying native water loving plants.
