Farming The Land
Last year's farm has expanded to nearly an acre with 60 varieties of vegetables. The guys have worked very hard to prepare the soil, nurture the seedlings in the greenhouse and get the crops planted earlier this spring. Last year Mother Nature decided to bestow Ohio with a mild drought and this spring two hard freezes on Memorial Weekend. Everyone scrambled to find enough sheets or burlap to cover the tender plants. I think everyone now understands why we've always been told not to plant until after Memorial Day.
For now, the farm's produce will be available at Hudson's Farmers Market as well as being used in many of Rick's recipes during the season at Nosh Eatery but these very energetic guys have big plans for an even bigger farm in years to come.
